Structural Health Monitoring of Big Structures

Researchers from SMILab are interested to collect real responses from dynamic systems to inform owners of valuable parameters. For example, we installed two wireless smart sensors on the Sandia Peak Tramway. One sensor was attached to the tramcar, and the other was secured to the tower.  The sensors, designed and developed by SMILab researchers, collected accelerations, angles, and displacements of both the tower and the car under different performance conditions.
